Live and Let Die....

with the terri shaivo case no longer causing a major scandal, wait... now they're arguing the burial arrangements. apparently, the husband wants to cremate her and the parents want her buried in a catholic ceremony. let me go back to what i said when this whole ordeal went public. there is no reason why this issue had to go to the federal court. in fact, when it comes to determining what happens to a given patient, who has no power of attorney, no living will, and no DNR order, by law it is a State, not federal matter. if her doctor would have simply advised for a DNR or at least to give someone POA, none of this would have happened. only the religious right could have made such a fuss. and, being that our country is run by the religious right, they get free reign over the legislature. thus, writing a law for one person. give me a break. i did enjoy the protests though. if you didn't happen to catch any of it; the outside of the hospice center had been crowded with bible-beating religious fanatics for days. the best part i thought, was watching people getting beat down and arrested for trying to get jugs of water into the hospice center. little did they know it really wouldn't have helped... dumbasses. one of the detained was a 10 year old girl, who i'm assuming was put up to it by her republican parents. ha!

and on to the pope. i'll just say how interesting i find the media coverage to be. not so much the coverage itself, but moreso the differences from channel to channel. CNN seems somewhat more realistic about the whole thing, while the beloved Fox News Network makes the usual false claims and assumptions.

God Damn, it's issues like this that really make me realize my disgust with our system of government and their right wing religious ideals. i never knew it was unpatriotic to have a little common sense.
