and now for something complety different...

that's right folks, the long awaited post-birth update. i first would like to apaologize for taking so long to get this out to you all, but i have suddenly discovered the reality that once you have a child, the rest of the world seems to take a back seat. not that i shun the rest of the world, it does continue to be the proverbial back seat driver of my life: work, family, and the like.

Genevieve Grace Reilly. born at 6:19 in the pm on november 27, 2004. 7 pounds 16 ounces, and 19 and a half inches long. and only after 16 hours of waiting, smoking, and giving multiple tours of the cleveland clinic to th select few who got "the call". she is now 2 weeks old, and i couldn't be happier. she looks more like jen than myself, which i believe is a good thing, as my nose is not as flattering as i would like. there will be a multitude of pictures appearing here in the very near future and i assure you all that each of you privledged enough to be in the "circle" may very well appear here in the event you have held Genevieve at some point.

another short note: i bought jon stewert's new book "america...the book". you all should read it. and you will get your chance as soon as it circulates the house.
